Frequently Asked Meterboard Questions

What's the difference between Foamboard, Gatorboard, Ultraboard, and Falconboard?
+

Each material offers different benefits for your meter board display. Foamboard is the most economical option, lightweight and suitable for short-term indoor use. Gatorboard provides superior durability with a wood fiber core, making it ideal for repeated use and outdoor applications. Ultraboard offers excellent print quality and moisture resistance, while Falconboard combines lightweight properties with enhanced strength. Your choice depends on your budget, intended use duration, and environmental conditions.

How do I choose the right size meter board for my needs?
+

The ideal meter board size depends on your viewing distance, message complexity, and available space. For close-up viewing (3-5 feet), smaller boards work well. For trade shows or larger spaces where people view from 10+ feet away, larger boards ensure your message remains visible and impactful. Consider your content amount – detailed information requires more space, while simple messages can work on smaller boards.

Can meter boards be used outdoors?
+

Yes, but material selection is crucial. While foamboard is best for indoor use, materials like Gatorboard and Ultraboard can withstand outdoor conditions when properly sealed and protected. For extended outdoor use, consider weather-resistant stands and protective coatings. Always check with your supplier about the specific outdoor durability of your chosen material and stand combination.

How long do meter board displays typically last?
+

The lifespan varies significantly based on material quality, usage frequency, and environmental conditions. Indoor foamboard displays may last 6-12 months with regular use, while higher-quality materials like Gatorboard can last several years. Outdoor displays face more wear and typically need replacement every 6-18 months. Proper storage and handling can significantly extend your meter board's lifespan.

Are meter board stands portable and easy to set up?
+

Most meter board self-standing sign stands are designed for portability and quick setup. Many feature lightweight aluminum construction, fold-flat designs for easy transport, and tool-free assembly. Setup typically takes just minutes, making them ideal for trade shows, events, and temporary displays. When choosing a stand, consider weight, folded dimensions, and ease of assembly based on how frequently you'll be moving and setting up your display.
